Philosophy of care: Everyone entering Greys Residential Home will receive a warm welcome and be treated with the utmost dignity and respect. As a family we accept your wishes to live your life as you want to. We have no rules or regulations and we respect your lifestyle.
We endeavour to ensure that you feel secure about your future health and happiness by providing warmth, hospitality and companionship. We aim to offer residents the opportunity to enhance their quality of life by providing a safe, manageable and comfortable environment, plus support and stimulation to enable all residents to live as full a life as they wish to.
Privacy: We strive to maintain as much privacy as possible for the residents of Greys Residential Home by observing the following; giving help in intimate situations as discreetly as possible, by helping residents to furnish and equip their rooms to their taste and to use them as they wish for leisure, meals or entertaining.
On request we will provide locks to doors and a lockable facility / safe in the room. Phone points in all rooms ensure privacy when using the telephone and when relatives or friends are present we will respect your privacy. All care records and personal details and other records are kept strictly confidential.
Dignity: Each resident will be treated as a special and valued individual. We offer activities to suit, which enables residents to express themselves as individuals. We will try to compensate for the effects of disabilities brought on by age in a way that meets your requirements.
Independence: We are aware that many of our residents feel that they must give up some independence by choosing to join us at Greys which is why we try to encourage our residents to live life as they want to and encourage contacts outside the home and within the local community.
Residents are encouraged to have access to and contribute to the records of their own care. Residents are asked to be involved in their care planning to let us know how much assistance they require. We always discuss risk taking with the resident and family to ensure that the risk is acceptable to all.
Choice: We aim to provide meals which enable residents as far as possible to decide where, when and with whom they consume their preferred food and drink. We try and enable residents to have their own timetable and not to be tied to any regime. The daily life of Greys Residential Home is built around the choices made by the residents.
Fulfilment: We want to help residents realise personal aspirations and abilities in all aspects of daily living by informing ourselves as fully as possible about the individuals' history and characteristics. We provide a range of leisure and recreational activities to suit the tastes and abilities of all residents and to stimulate participation. We endeavour to respond to the personal, intellectual, artistic and spiritual values and practices of all residents.
